Trout Lake Fair 2022

First weekend in August brings the annual old-fashioned town fair.  We scurry to bring our flowers, produce, baked goods, and handcrafts for display.  Lydia aspired to win the Kitchen Aid Mixer with Best of Show in the adult baking competition.  She won 2021, her first time in the adult class, but she wanted another mixer to put away and pass her last year's mixer on to aunt and cousins.

Garden herb bouquet of yarrow, sage, calendula.

Lydia submitted a carrot cake with brown butter cream cheese frosting.

Lydia's sourdough in flour sack towel had some competition this year.

Monte and Laura showed an heirloom wheat variety they are growing as a trial for producing their own chicken feed.

11:00 Parade ends with the firetrucks and water spray on a hot day!
