Thanksgiving Day

Lydia captured the Thanksgiving feasting prep....
Handsome CDR in charge of the turkey.  He spent all day in the kitchen with me.  What a Thanksgiving treat!

Final squeeze of citrus for the avocado grapefruit salad.
Cooked the turkey in the Traeger and proved perfection.

Reduction stock and drippings for rich giblet gravy bubbling away.

Pumpkin pies with baked sweet meat, coconut milk, and honey in an Einkorn flour/butter crust.

Lydia set the Thanksgiving table.  She wove the placemats at Keeper's of the Faith Girls' Club last Friday and made the cranberry sauce with fresh-squeezed oranges, honey, and a splash of bourbon on Wednesday.

The Thanksgiving feasting met all of Cousin Matt's expectations and satisfied his palate to the fullest.  Such a joy and pleasure to share our table with my "first" cousin and son, Riku!

November Sunset-lit Home

Cousins arrived on a Monday and first stop - Similk Beach.

Tracing a bit of history together.

Next day, wind and sun on the shores shared with Navy jets.

Long Jump

Lydia takes on the challenge.

Gabe's heels dig in the farthest distance, but he lands flat on his back for a good rattling.

Hand feeding Chickadees

Gabe even had Lydia popping out of bed to hand feed the chickadees next morning.  She said it was the most amazing feeling!  "A wild bird landing on your hand because it wants to and sitting there with its little feet wrapped around your finger...."  Un-shelled sunflower seed is the draw for them.
