Family!

Gabe Head Shot

Lydia looking down the barrel.

Feel the wind.  Withstood the windiest bluff during a Whidbey wind storm!

Not so sure about being down the barrel!

Gabe got his feet off the ground with wind in his sail.

Running with face to the wind.
Remedy for the "wind" ache.  It worked!

First Fish

A week ago Friday, Marshal got a half day for Friday fishing.  Forever friends came from the ferry and were all for the fun of fishing.  I almost forgot we brought home all these salmon on our catch cards!
Our friend, Conor, enjoyed reeling in his first fish! So fun!

Sheep Duo

Biddy's back in the pasture, and it's time for Dolly's manicure.

I got braver with the long back hooves.  Dolly looks almost petrified though.

Something very lovable about a sheep.

I don't think I saw this shearing position/hold strategy in the YouTube video.

For all she knew, Dolly was a lamb to the slaughter.  Marshal flashing a competent smile.

She still looks like a cotton ball, but no cuts and definitely a lighter August coat.
You'd never know she is a wild thing.  Sheep are such defenseless, dependent creatures.

Best of Salmon Continues

Smoking Fillets

Marshal gutting a first shore caught fish.  A bystander asked to take our photo.

Just a regular Friday afternoon on Whidbey.:-)

I'm sitting on the rocks and sand - the very best of "earthing," body to earth contact.

Evening Panarama.  That's me out there.
Saturday morning with Grandpa and Dad.

Nice one!

Grammy and the girls joined the boat in the afternoon after a little stop at the Coupeville Saturday market.
Grandpa and Lydia sharing the water with the Coupeville to Pt Townsend Ferry.  8 fish on board!

I actually caught a fish at the end of the day in the turbulent waters alongside the "guns" before heading into the pier.

Full Boat!
Who do you think really caught all those fish?!  Hint, hint:  The one holding the most.

Can't rest until the salmon stop biting.

He makes a most handsome silhouette.

TL Fair Runners

Abijah was the first runner in by a long shot in the Family Fun Run!  Grandma Laura said he is ready for the 5K next year!

Thad came in up front too.

Caleb and Silas running strong at the finish.

Rest of "Thad's" family coming to the finish line.
Seth and Johannes.  Almost there!  Yeah Johannes.

Family Fun Run!  Matthias has both feet in.

Cousins, Silas and Abijah at the finish.  Abijah poses next to his photo on the Fun Run poster/flyer!

Future town Doc comes in third over all in the 5K, 1st in his age division.
Jedidiah finishes strong and early with chiseled form.

Here comes Shane, making it look easy.

There's Naph with her pony tail flying!

Ezekiel ran an extra length, turning back with the family fun run and then being prompted to go back by dad and continue with the 5K.  He raced Gabe to the finish.
Lydia slipped over the finish line without my notice!

Right behind Gabe and Ezekiel.

As young and spry as ever at 70.  Mom/Grandma Ruth won a pie.

Running genes.
Find a seat under the tree; the day is already warming up.

Community dinner and family fun run kicked off a great fair weekend and family reunion in Trout Lake.  These two events are represented in the sum of my photos.  I was too busy the rest of the weekend to take pictures!  We look forward to next year, being settled members of this community and greater family, active fair participants, and time to enjoy our family at leisure.
