Birthday Tea

Lydia decided a year ago that she wanted a Birthday Tea Party for her next birthday.  So the vision had time to develop, and the planning started a month ago.  The invitations went out last week, and the baking began.  Then we washed the china, experimented with tableware, laid out the settings, began in earnest to prepare the goodies, picked the bouquet, wrote out the place cards, selected the seating, put Romantic Adagios in the CD player... and then all the girls arrived, and it was complete.

Nine-year-old Birthday Girl

I find this to be VERY true, and Lydia and I both thought it appropriate for her birthday, friendship tea.
