Marshal's birthday was an excuse for Lydia to make a chocolate raspberry cream filled cake upon our return home. No matter that it was Marshal's third cake in his honor. Lydia was anxious to turn her hand in the kitchen again, and we were spoiled to have her with us again. Decadent chocolate buttercream and raspberries freshly picked from the vine in late July made for a fabulous cake.
