Jesus is our example. Matthew 11:29, "Take my yoke upon you, and learn of Me, for I am meek and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls."
Zephaniah 2:3, "Seek the Lord, all you humble (meek) of the land (earth), who do his just commands; seek righteousness; seek humility (meekness); perhaps you may be hidden on the day of the anger of the Lord."
The earth belongs to Christ. The meek will inherit the earth as co-heirs with Christ. The meek are the children of God who have been redeemed, saved, delivered by the blood of Christ out of Satan's rebellious rulership of the kingdom's of this world! Here is another biblical article on the conflict of authority. Who really has the authority?
The father of lies, for he was a liar from the beginning, rules with rebellious authority. He is not god, but he was cast to the earth under the curse with permission to exercise his power for a time. There is no meekness in him, no humility. All those who have not humbled themselves before the Living God march to his drum.
Colossian 1:13, "The Father has delivered us from the domain of darkness and transferred us to the kingdom of his beloved Son."
Adam ate the fruit of a tree that contained seed that he was commanded to not eat from. Who offered that fruit? Adam's own seed from that day on, sowed to corrupted flesh, as his seed bore the fruit after its own kind, corrupted seed. Every man is born into sin, in bondage to the rebellious one who aspired to exalt himself above God. We must be born again of incorruptible seed through the seed of promise, born of faith. Christ fulfilled that righteous seed of promise in every way, redeemed our corrupted seed when He left His place in heaven, was born of a woman, suffered and poured out His own blood, and was raised by the Power of God on the third day that He might be firstborn of many brethren, to be raised up imperishable, born of incorruptible seed by the Word of God, made flesh! Got that?

This is a place where the meek bear the image of the Son, as they walk in submission to Him, and make a home for children, children who see Christ for His world, experience Christ for their world, and know Christ as co-heirs with Him, children of a Heavenly Father.

I believe these words:

We do well to heed the words of the prophet Jeremiah to Jerusalem and Judah, the Lord's people. (Chapters 2 and 17)
Jeremiah 2:11b-13
But my people have changed their glory
for that which does not profit.

The Compassion of the Lord

Rivers of Living Water
37 On the last day of the feast, the great day, Jesus stood up and cried out, “If anyone thirsts, let him come to me and drink. 38 Whoever believes in me, as[f] the Scripture has said, ‘Out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.’” 39 Now this he said about the Spirit, whom those who believed in him were to receive, for as yet the Spirit had not been given, because Jesus was not yet glorified.Revelation 22:17 The Spirit and the Bride say, “Come.” And let the one who hears say, “Come.” And let the one who is thirsty come; let the one who desires take the water of life without price.

We are not daughters of Egypt. Do we seek many medicines in vain rather than turning to the One who heals?
Jesus spoke of Himself as the physician. He came for the those in need of a physician. He came to heal the sick, broken, lame, blind, deaf....
Why are we not healed?
John 12:37 Though he had done so many signs before them, they still did not believe in him, 38 so that the word spoken by the prophet Isaiah might be fulfilled:
“Lord, who has believed what he heard from us,
and to whom has the arm of the Lord been revealed?”

Pray for Rain
The Lord withholds the rain so that we will thirst for Him. He holds the rain. He is the water source. Have we gone to the wellspring?

The Death of Jesus
44 It was now about the sixth hour,[e] and there was darkness over the whole land until the ninth hour,[f] 45 while the sun's light failed. And the curtain of the temple was torn in two. 46 Then Jesus, calling out with a loud voice, said, “Father, into your hands I commit my spirit!” And having said this he breathed his last. 47 Now when the centurion saw what had taken place, he praised God, saying, “Certainly this man was innocent!” 48 And all the crowds that had assembled for this spectacle, when they saw what had taken place, returned home beating their breasts. 49 And all his acquaintances and the women who had followed him from Galilee stood at a distance watching these things.
Jesus Is Buried
50 Now there was a man named Joseph, from the Jewish town of Arimathea. He was a member of the council, a good and righteous man, 51 who had not consented to their decision and action; and he was looking for the kingdom of God. 52 This man went to Pilate and asked for the body of Jesus. 53 Then he took it down and wrapped it in a linen shroud and laid him in a tomb cut in stone, where no one had ever yet been laid. 54 It was the day of Preparation, and the Sabbath was beginning.[g] 55 The women who had come with him from Galilee followed and saw the tomb and how his body was laid. 56 Then they returned and prepared spices and ointments.
On the Sabbath they rested according to the commandment.
