Gabe is with Grandma and Grandpa. He has been calling us daily, and it so delightful to hear his voice and his summary of his day. He has been in his element, catching frogs, grasshoppers, fishing, driving tractor, stacking firewood, picking blackberries, making jam with Grandma. Meanwhile our kitchen table has had glitter glue and pattern blocks at hand's reach all week. Lydia 's first project with glitter glue was the ballet dancers' embellishment for her Summer ballet class homework. We've had fun, as mother/daughter with movies, lots of library books, luncheon, baby shower, tea party, and a couple play dates.
The pattern blocks at hand resulted in Marshal's creative side coming out. Each morning while eating breakfast, as the rest of the house remains in quiet slumber, he has left a beautiful design. Lydia and I come down the stairs and exclaim each morning at the surprise and evidence of Dad (other than the rinsed cereal bowl, spoon, and juice glass in the sink). We smiled at his smiling face this morning.
I love those pattern blocks...where did you find them? And I also love Marshal's morning creations. Adam used to do that with Noah's train tracks before going to work each morning. And how wonderful that Gabe is having some time on his own. Sounds like the summer is going well for all of you!
